The team at Choonara Orthodontics is dedicated to providing all our patients with exceptional orthodontic treatment and superior patient care. Our convenient office location makes it easy for patients living in and around Johannesburg, Randburg and Sandton to get the orthodontic treatment they need and deserve. We provide a variety of orthodontic treatments, from metal braces to Invisalign to patients of all ages, because we want everyone to have the gift of a beautiful smile.

Our practice will be closed for the festive season from the 16th of December 2023, and will re-open on the 11th of January 2024.
In case of any emergencies during this time, feel free to call our emergency number 072 731 7284 and one of our team members will be happy to help you.
If you believe you have an orthodontic emergency, the first step to take is to determine how severe the problem is so you know what action to take. You should visit an emergency room right away for any serious, major problem including:
- Trauma or injury to the teeth, face or mouth
- Infection or swelling of the gums, mouth or face
- Severe, unmanageable pain or discomfort
If you have a less serious problem with your appliances causing you discomfort or irritation, you should call our office at (011) 678-8090 to schedule an appointment time. Some of the most common minor problems orthodontic patients encounter include:
- Loose or broken brackets, bands or wires
- Misplaced or poking archwires, brackets or ties
Until you can come in, please use wax to cover the irritated areas and take ibuprofen for the pain. We'll do our best to get you in our office as soon as possible, and we appreciate your patience.
