What Happens At Your First Appointment
For your first visit with Dr. Choonara, we will schedule a consultation at your convenience and have you come into our orthodontist office in Northcliff for an evaluation. We will discuss your oral health history and concerns, and then conduct a series of short tests to get a better idea of what kind of orthodontic treatment you may need. These tests include:
- Taking X Rays and photographs of your teeth
- Making a 3D model to evaluate your bite
- An oral examination of your teeth and jaw to check for alignment and other conditions
In total your first visit will take no more than +- 60 minutes and will leave you with a better sense of your dental health, and whether you should pursue orthodontic treatment, such as braces, aligners and more, at our office in Johannesburg. Dr. Choonara will personally walk you through the results of your examination and help you decide whether you want to continue with orthodontic treatment and explain what that would entail.
